Security Guard

Job Summary


To supervise and monitor field work or operation daily, to prepare related documents and records for record keeping.

Job responsibilities

  • Assist supervisors in supervising, execute the assignment of external security personnel for daily task such as patrolling, clocking, opening gates, monitoring and inspecting all movement of contractor activities and reporting any incidents.
  • Assist supervisor in dealing with, coordinating and resolving all matters related to work premises traffic including security measures, incident handling and protocols if there are VIP guests at the work premises.
  • Inspect, monitor and supervise the oil palm plantation area to ensure safety, cleanliness and maintenance of facilities, road surfaces, signage, display boxes, equipment, and the well-being of trees and plants. This includes assigning and coordinating staff and cleaning services.
  • Monitor Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras to detect any disturbances or illegal activities.
  • Conduct footfall counting and other administrative work at the security base designated by the Superior.
  • Provide basic reports on daily activities and any incidents that may occur at the work premises.
  • Conduct test and monitor security systems and report any abnormalities or damage on company assets.
  • Assist Supervisors during emergencies at oil palm plantations as security personnel to manage situations such as floods, unauthorized gatherings, illegal activities and any other crises at the oil palm plantation.
  • In charge of opening and closing of estate gates according to the approved operating schedule.
  • To carry out general works assigned:
  • To chase out cattle from estate land.
  • To help clear out the rubbish from site office according to schedule.
  • To repair minor damage on estate buildings – fences, laying cement on crack wall/pole.
  • To assist in minor field work – palm/tree poisoning, marking and weed spraying over small area.
  • Assist in loading and unloading light materials, supplies or equipment.
  • Assist with monitoring of fertilizer unloading when field supervisor or other staffs momentarily.
  • To undertake ad-hoc assignment or duties which align to your skill sets that assigned by Superior or management from time-to-time as when required.

 

Requirements:-

Education & Qualification

  • SPM or above.

Relevant Experience & Years of Service

  • Minimum 3 years above working in oil palm estate as a Security Guard.
  • Ex-army or police with good background would be an added advantage.

Technical Skills & Professional Knowledge

  • Good knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures in Safety & Security protocols.
  • Good knowledge of Safety & Security rules and regulations in oil palm industry.
  • Good knowledge of local communities’ social activities & cultures.
  • Physically fit.

Competencies

  • Good work discipline.
  • Basic in both spoken & written English & Bahasa Malaysia
