MANAGER, SAFETY & SECURITY

Job Summary: 

 

Overall to develop, implement and monitor an effective strategy to mitigate risk, maintain continuity of operations and ensuring the safety and security of all individuals and all the assets in PPB Properties. The incumbent shall also serve as the subject matter expert on all safety and security related matters. The incumbent will be responsible for establishing policies and standards affecting safety and security of staff, retailers, shoppers, customers, mall facilities, all other assets. This position also is required to provide safety and security advisory to the project team.

 

Job Description: 

  • Plan and develop the overall safety and security strategy and policy for PPB Properties assets and project to ensure the compliance of the local legislation
  • Plan, develop and control budgets for safety and security operations and monitor expenses
  • Review and implement security & safety policies, Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment.
  • Plan and implement safety and security policies and procedures that are specific to shopping center business (fit-out of new tenant and reinstatement work)
  • Lead and manage a team of security officers to ensure they comply with the requirements to uphold security standards. Recruit, train and develop security staff in building a highly competent security team
  • Manage the security contractors to comply with the company’s security policy and standard
  • Plan and coordinate resources and operations in emergencies and crisis.
  • Monitor, follow up and report incident that involve insurance claims to the respective insurance company.
  • Conduct investigations and prepare reports on incidents and safety and/or security breaches. Provide recommendation to avoid the same incident from recurring.
  • Define the level of safety and security requirement for the building, its tenants, vendors/contractors, patrons and facilities
  • Ensure staff, tenants and contractors adhere to established safety policies and house rules and take appropriate action where needed on violations or non-compliances
  • Ensure that all elements of the Emergency Response Team program and policy with state, federal or local jurisdictional requirement
  • Monitor and ensure that inspections are done periodically and vigilantly and all firefighting systems, first aid and safety equipment are well maintained
  • Meet with tenants to discuss their needs and any issues relating to the shopping mall safety and security and provide information or assistance to tenants
  • Plan, monitor and manage all associated risk resulting from business activities, assessment of risk, propose mitigation programs and strategies implementation of risk control and regular efficiency review
  • Represent the company and conduct regular liaison with appropriate law enforcement and other emergency response authorities eg. Police, DOSH, BOMBA
  • Provide safety and security advisory to the projects team
  • Any other task assigned by superior as and when necessary

Required qualifications and skills

  • Candidate must possess at least a professional certificate, Diploma, Professional Degree in any field

  • More than 10 -12 years of working experience in the related field for this position.
  • Preferably Managers specializing in Security/Armed forces/Protectives services/ESH or equivalent
  • Safety & Health Officer Course (SHO) will be added advantage
  • Knowledge of Security SOP and Protocols
  • Knowledge of National/Local laws/rules & regulations
  • Hazard identification and Risk Assessment
