Manager, Production

Job Summary

The Production Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling all production-related activities to ensure safe, efficient, and cost‑effective manufacturing of animal feed in compliance with company policies, Environment, Safety & Health (SH), Feed Safety Management System (FSMS), GMP, HACCP, FSSC 22000, and applicable regulatory requirements.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operation and overseeing the Mill and Warehouse Section.
  • Plan, organize and control daily production activities to meet production targets and customer demand.
  • Ensure feed production is carried out in accordance with approved formulations, SOP and quality specifications.
  • Monitor production efficiency, downtime and yield; initiate corrective actions where performance deviates from targets.
  • Oversee warehouse operations including receiving, storage, issuance and dispatch of finished goods.
  • Ensure proper stock control, inventory accuracy, FIFO/FEFO practices and traceability of materials.
  • Responsible for bulk material receiving and inventory i.e. Maize, Soyabean Meal and Crude Palm Oil.
  • Review and optimize warehouse layout, storage methods, and housekeeping to ensure efficient space utilization and safe operations.
  • Coordinate engineering and maintenance activities to ensure all machinery, equipment and utilities are maintained in good working condition.
  • Enforce preventive maintenance schedules and ensure maintenance checklists are properly implemented and recorded.
  • Monitor equipment performance, breakdown trends, and spare parts usage; implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure personnel are competent, trained, and aware of their responsibilities related to production, maintenance, and feed safety.
  • Monitor departmental KPIs and take timely corrective actions for underperformance.
  • Promote discipline, teamwork, and a strong safety and feed safety culture within the department.
  • Continuously review and implement process improvements to enhance productivity, efficiency, and cost control.
  • Ensure effective coordination between production planning, raw material availability, and manpower deployment.
  • Carrying out any other duties assigned by the Management.

 

Job Requirement

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/ Manufacturing/ Animal Science or any related field.
  • Minimum 5 – 8 years’ experience in feed milling or manufacturing operations, including maintenance and warehouse exposure.
  • Leadership and management abilities for inspiring teams towards success
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Highly organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to multitask and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Proactive and solution-oriented mindset, with a focus on continuous improvement.
