Job Summary

ESH will be responsible to ensure policies, standards and procedures are dutifully implemented by ensuring local & company legislative requirements are adhered to increase environment, safety & health awareness, develops a positive environmental, Health & Safety ( EHS ) culture and establishes a safe working environment across all operational and non - operational personnel.

 

Job Responsibilities

-To assist superior in implementing, monitor and maintain all policies and procedures relating to EHS as to fulfil the minimum requirement of government regulatory bodies and company.

-Keep abreast of current and emerging EHS standards & practices and report any updated information to superior and management.

-Perform inspection of plant & facilities on required basis in accordance to inspection checklist to ensure compliance with EHS standards and rectify any issue highlighted.

-To address all EHS issues and coordinate with respective personnel to align with the procedures accordingly.

-To assist superior in preparing incident report and conduct investigations as required by management and of government regulatory bodies on any accident occur in plant and file report for management review within reasonable time frame.

-To monitor workers, contractors and visitors' compliance to EHS rules and regulations.

-To assist superior in organizing and coordinate safety induction/briefing/training/meeting/medical checkup or other area where necessary to build awareness and help to strengthen EHS on a regular and systematic basis.

-To be member of OSH / ERT Team & liaise with DOSH/BOMBA/DOEand other relevant government regulatory bodies on matters related to EHS.

 

Education & Qualification

-Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Management, Engineering, Science, or related discipline.

-Registered Safety and Health Officer (SHO) with DOSH is an added advantage.

-Relevant EHS certifications and training will be an added advantage.

 

Relevant Experience & Years of Service

-Minimum 2 years of working experience in EHS, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, or related field.

-Experience in manufacturing or industrial environment is preferred.

-Experience in regulatory compliance, industrial hygiene monitoring, risk assessment, incident investigation, and contractor management.


Technical Skills & Professional Knowledge

-Knowledge of OSH (Amendment) Act 2022, Environmental Quality Act 1974, Fire Services Act 1988 and other applicable regulatory requirements.

-Knowledge of emergency preparedness and response, contractor safety management, permit-to-work (PTW), and safety training programs.

-Good communication, stakeholder engagement, and presentation skills.

-Ability to work independently and coordinate with regulatory authorities, consultants, contractors, and cross-functional teams.

 

Competencies

-Willing to work beyond normal working hours, weekends, and public holidays when required to support operational, emergency response, incident investigation, or compliance activities.

-Able to work in industrial, manufacturing and outdoor environments, including exposure to heat, dust, noise, and varying weather conditions.

-Physically fit and able to conduct site inspections, audits, emergency drills, and field monitoring activities.

-Willing to respond to emergency situations and urgent site matters outside normal working hours.

-Possess good interpersonal and communication skills to engage with employees, contractors, authorities, and stakeholders at all levels.

-Able to travel between company sites and attend external meetings, training, audits, or regulatory inspections when required.

-Possess own transport and is willing to travel when required.
