Job Summary 

Oversee feed and raw material quality assurance processes, including laboratory analysis, premix control, and feed safety compliance to ensure all feeds and raw materials meet required quality, safety, and regulatory standards. The role ensures effective laboratory operations, monitoring of raw material quality, and adherence to ISO Feed Safety Management System and applicable regulatory requirements.

 

Responsibilities:

●  Overall in charge of laboratory and premix operations, ensuring the quality and safety of feeds and raw materials through proper sampling, testing, and analysis.

●  Ensure samples are taken for every batch of incoming raw materials and analyzed in accordance with established quality control procedures.

●  Supervise laboratory staff and quality/premix controllers in conducting laboratory analyses, premix preparation, and maintaining laboratory operations.

●  Verify laboratory test results and ensure quality controllers perform proper validation before approval or release of raw materials and finished feeds.

●  Coordinate with the Factory Manager to inspect physical appearance of raw materials and feeds and report any abnormalities to the Director / General Manager further action.

●  Raw materials analyses reports are compiled and submitted to the Factory Manager and Director / General Manager on a weekly and monthly basis.

●  Monitor off-specification results and immediately notify the Factory Manager for investigation and corrective action.

●  Perform inventory control of laboratory chemicals and premix ingredients, including stock recording, issuance, and monthly stock verification.

●  Plan daily premix production together with quality/premix controllers and ensure instructions are properly communicated to premix operators.

●  Issue feed medication forms and collaborate with the Field Technical Team to ensure premix formulations are prepared accurately based on production needs and technical recommendations.

●  Conduct checks on premix stock and balance inventory to ensure accuracy and availability for production needs.

●  Lead and coordinate ISO Feed Safety Management System activities, including documentation control, internal audits, compliance monitoring, corrective actions, and ensuring adherence to regulatory and certification requirements.

●  Act as the person in charge of poison license compliance, ensuring proper storage, handling, documentation, and regulatory reporting for controlled substances used in medicated feed and premix production.

●  Maintain records and inventory control of scheduled poisons in accordance with regulatory requirements and company procedures.

●  Ensure adherence to ISO Feed Safety Management System requirements and Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) standards, including company policies, SOPs, and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

 

Qualifications & Requirements:

●  Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biotechnology, or related field.

●  Possess certification related to Feed Safety, Quality Management Systems, HACCP, or ISO standards is an added advantage.

 

Relevant Experience & Years of Service:

●  Minimum 3 – 5 years of relevant experience in quality assurance, laboratory operations, or manufacturing environment.

●  Experience in feed safety systems, raw material testing, and premix formulation is preferred.

●  Working experience in the feed industry will be an added advantage.

 

Technical Skills & Professional Knowledge:

●  Knowledge of feed manufacturing processes, raw material quality standards, and feed safety requirements.

●  Familiarity with laboratory testing methods and quality control procedures.

●  Understanding of Feed Safety Management Systems (e.g., ISO 22000, GMP+, HACCP).

●  Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to animal feed safety.

●  Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and basic laboratory documentation systems.
