Job Summary

Responsible for overseeing the efficient operation of a spare parts store, ensuring that the right spare parts are available when needed to support equipment maintenance, repair and production processes. 
 

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible to maintain and up-to-date inventory of spare parts. 
  • To monitor stock levels and ensure the availability of critical parts to avoid production delays or equipment downtime. 
  • Implement efficient inventory control practices to minimize waste, theft or obsolescence. 
  • To source and purchase spare parts from suppliers and negotiate favorable terms, including price, delivery and payment conditions. 
  • Organize and categorize spare parts to facilitate easy retrieval and efficient tracking. 
  • Ensure that spare parts meet quality standards and specifications. 
  • Supervise a team of Executive, storekeepers, clerks or technicians responsible for managing the spare part store. 
  • Ensure a clean and organized store environment and complying with safety regulations and implement safety protocols to protect employees and spare parts. 
  • Cultivate positive relationships with suppliers and negotiate agreements that benefit the organization. 
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance store efficiency and cost-effectiveness. 

 

Education and Qualification

  • Advanced/ Higher Graduate Diploma, Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with minimum three / five years working experience in manufacturing sector with spare part management. 
  • At least 5 years of related experience in managerial position in handling spare parts management in manufacturing sector. 

 

Technical Skills & Professional Knowledge

  • Good in managing spare parts inventory and management. 
  • Strong management skills and able to efficiently organize the team. 
  • Strong analytical thinking and leadership skills. 
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to motivate the team and encourage strong teamwork. 
  • Good sense of urgency and able to work under pressure. 
  • Good verbal and written English communication skills. 
  • Computer literate & professional work ethics.
