Senior Specialist, Planning & Design

Senior Specialist, Project | Damansara Jaya, Selangor. 

Job Summary:

Responsible for overall project design development including space planning, layout and interior look & feel for upcoming projects and ensure successful completion of individual projects within the approved budget, time and quality.

 

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Managing and coordinating design development of new project of Architecture planning, layout development, interior look and feel, shop front/façade design, furniture and signage design.
  • Monitor consultants’ works to ensure all intended scope of work, needs and requirements from various parties captured and translate to drawings accordingly, participate in contract negotiation.
  • Organize client consultant meeting, review and coordinate drawings with consultants during design development, monitor design work progress including the timeline for authorities’ submission.
  • Act as coordinator & point of communication to external consultants (ID and MEP), contractors and internal relevant department (operation and marketing).
  • Perform site recce and conduct feasibility study on new site and research on latest market needs to identify business opportunities
  • Follow up with landlord’s consultants to obtain the requisite approvals within the appropriate time frame, gather and prepare information for permit applications. 
  • Facilitate outlets renovation activities, ensure all necessary documents and drawings are submitted and approved prior to commence work, attend briefing before renovation, coordination on MEP matters and equipment installation.
  • Conduct site inspection/supervision and drive the project team to deliver the actual built product as similar as intended design proposed and ensure project is on schedule and within budget and scope
  • Evaluate fixtures/furniture/equipment specification and design. Approve design documents/shop drawings submitted by suppliers, main contractor and NSC. 
  • Collate and files all relevant approvals, permits, as built drawings and warranty. Handover to maintenance team once project completed.
  • Perform and undertake any other duties as may be prescribed by management from time to time

 

Job Requirement:

  • Possess Degree in Interior Design or Architecture.
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience in related field.
  • Positive attitude, resourceful, able to work independently and a strong team player.
  • Pro-active with excellent communication and liaison skills.
  • Good working knowledge of architectural and technical design and understanding in retail fit out.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Sketchup, Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop, Microsoft Suites including Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Possess retail, shopping mall, commercial space experience would be an added advantage. 
  • Good command of written and spoken English.
