Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee quality control activities from raw material receipt through in-process checks to finished product preparation, including:
    1. Raw Material Receiving: Ensure incoming raw materials meet quality and safety specifications through inspection and verification against COA.
    2. In-Process Control: Monitor critical control points and verify in-line checks (e.g. temperature, weight, metal detection) are conducted and recorded accurately.
    3. Finished Product Release: Review sensory and lab test results, ensure documentation is complete and accurate, and escalate to QA HOD for final verification and product release decision.
  • Ensure all documentation (checklists, traceability logs, CCP records) is complete, up to date, and submitted on time, including digital entry via PowerApps.
  • Supervise and perform sensory evaluations to ensure products meet approved specifications.
  • Conduct GMP and hygiene inspections in production and support areas according to FSSC 22000 PRPs.
  • Supervise usage and control of cleaning chemicals; verify proper labelling, storage, and handling.
  • Oversee lab sample submissions for microbiological, wastewater, and verification testing; follow up on test results and required retests.
  • Support the execution of internal and external calibration activities by ensuring equipment is available and accessible for scheduled calibration, and by coordinating with the QA Executive as needed.
  • Monitor Pest Control activities on-site, ensure daily checks and documentation are completed, and escalate any issues or signs of infestation to the QA Executive for action.
  • Monitor and manage daily task execution and attendance of QA Assistants, ensuring adequate shift coverage and performance.
  • Support investigations on product non-conformities and customer complaints by gathering relevant data, conducting preliminary traceability checks, and assisting in the implementation and follow-up of corrective and preventive actions
  • Participate in and support internal, customer, authority and certification body (CB) audits.
  • Review and monitor laboratory documentation to ensure records are completed accurately, submitted on time, and traceable according to reference numbers and system requirements.
  • Provide day-to-day supervision and guidance to QA Assistants by reinforcing food safety practices, monitoring task execution, and supporting on-the-job training as directed by the QA HOD.
  • Communicate regularly with the QA HOD on quality issues, documentation status, checklist completion, and team performance.
  • Escalate critical findings or unresolved issues to the QA HOD for decision-making and follow-up actions.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by Superior.

Person Specifications:

Education & Qualification

  • Diploma and above on Food Technology/Chemistry

Relevant Experience & Years of Service

  • Minimum 2 years of working experience in a related field within the food manufacturing industry, preferably in poultry or frozen food processing

Technical Skills & Professional Knowledge

  • Minimum 2 years of working experience in a related field within the food manufacturing industry, preferably in poultry or frozen food processing.

Competencies

  • Solid understanding of food manufacturing requirements, especially in processed meat products.
  • Basic knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and Halal practices in food manufacturing.
  • Strong attention to detail and capable of identifying quality and food safety deviations.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills for coordinating with QA team and production staff.
  • Demonstrates competencies in analytical thinking, objectivity, flexibility, coordination, and task management.
  • Willingness to learn and grow into a leadership role, including supporting staff training and team supervision.
  • Proficient in basic digital tools (e.g. PowerApps, Excel) for documentation and reporting purposes.
