Summary
•    Implement and manage disease prevention and treatment for poultry.
•    Oversee daily veterinary operations and provide expert advice.
•    Ensure farm compliance with myGAP certification requirements.
•    Coordinate with suppliers and regulatory bodies on veterinary matters.


Job Description
•    Ensure all veterinary aspects of Good Animal Husbandry Practices (GAHP), including pullet & flock health monitoring and related programs, are consistently implemented to support efficient and productive farm operations.
•    Ensure all Work Instructions (WI) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) are kept up to date and revised as needed to reflect current practices.
•    Oversee biosecurity measures, vaccination schedules, routine medication, disease monitoring, diagnostics, and laboratory testing — including sample collection and interpretation of results — on a regular basis or as required.
•    Ensure that all relevant staff are fully trained in veterinary and husbandry practices related to farm operations.
•    When required, ensure all farm resources (labour, livestocks, feeds, biologics and pharmaceuticals, equipment, buildings and facilities including water, etc) and farm produce (eggs, spent hents) are well kept and utilized, well maintained, adequately recorded and accounted.


Education & Qualification
•    Degree in Veterinary Medicine
•    Hold a valid Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) issued by Malaysian Veterinary Council (MVC)

 

Relevant Experience & Years of Service

•    Minimum 2 years’ experience in broiler breeder or layer farming

 

Technical Skills & Professional Knowledge
•    Professional knowledge and ethical standards in all aspects set by the MVC.
•    Ability to do post mortem and diagnose poultry diseases accurately
•    Display a high degree of accuracy, attention to details and the discipline to follow up outstanding matters.
•    Detail-oriented, good interpersonal skills, team player and possesses self-initiative.
•    Good verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with employees and stakeholders.
•    Experienced in executing and improving procedures.
•    Able to engage in a professional and collaborative manner with internal and external stakeholders.
•    Well verse in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience in SAP environment, Microsoft Outlook, Team and OneDrive is an added advantage.
•    Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
