Job Summary

Responsible for overseeing and ensuring the implementation and compliance of quality assurance programs, biosecurity, and food safety standards across all layer farming operations.

This role supports continuous improvement in product quality, animal welfare, and farm hygiene, in line with regulatory, customer, and internal requirements.

The role also involves maintaining a Quality Management System that complies with ISO 9001 standards and supporting MSPO (Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil) sustainability initiatives.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor QA procedures and SOPs in layer farms, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements (DVS, Department of Health, etc.).
  • Maintain and enhance the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001 standards.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections of layer farm operations (feed, water, environment, egg handling, etc.) to ensure hygiene, animal health, and product safety standards.
  • Investigate quality issues, non-conformance, or deviations, and recommend corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Manage documentation related to farm QA programs including ISO 9001, MSPO, and other relevant standards.
  • Update and maintain all quality system-related documents and records, ensuring all quality records are properly filed and readily accessible for audits or inspections.
  • Support farm operations in quality-related training for staff and workers (biosecurity, hygiene practices, SOPs).
  • Prepare monthly QA reports and updates for management review.
  • Lead or support internal and external audits (e.g., ISO 9001, MSPO, certification bodies, customer audits).
  • Monitor compliance with MSPO principles related to sustainability, traceability, safety, and environmental management.

 

 

 Person Specifications:

Education & Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science, Veterinary, Food Technology, Agriculture, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS), especially ISO 9001, and food safety standards such as HACCP and GMP.
  • Hands-on experience with MSPO implementation is highly preferred.
  • Good understanding of farm biosecurity, animal welfare, and environmental management practices.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Able to work independently.

Relevant Experience & Years of Service

  • Minimum 5 years of QA experience in the poultry industry, preferably in layer farming.
