Job Summary
The Hygiene & Sanitation Specialist serves as the subject matter expert (SME) for plant and farms hygiene and sanitation across the FFM Group. This role is responsible for overseeing sanitation and integrated pest management programmes across all plant and farms facilities, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, company policies, and industry best practices.
 
 
Job Responsibilities 
  • Collaborate with and manage plant and farms teams to ensure adherence to sanitation, food safety, and pest control standards and best practices.
  • Develop, implement, and govern Group-wide standards for food safety, sanitation, hygiene, and pest control.
  • Maintain and update documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, and records, to comply with FFM Group Standards, FSSC 22000, HACCP, HALAL, and MOH requirements.
  • Oversee verification and validation of production lines to ensure alignment with food safety and sanitation protocols.
  • Manage and maintain a Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) across all plant facilities, ensuring compliance with Group and regulatory standards.
  • Lead implementation and governance of sanitation and pest control programmes across plant and farms infrastructure and facilities.
  • Provide technical support to capital projects and new product development teams to ensure compliance with hygiene and safety standards.
  • Conduct regular audits, site visits, and assessments, follow up with corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.  
  • Deliver training and coaching to cross-functional teams to build hygiene awareness, capability, and ownership.
  • Champion the company’s culture and values internally and externally, acting as a hygiene and sanitation ambassador.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
  • Serve as a role model and advocate for the company’s culture, values, and ethical standards both internally and externally.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in responsibilities, proactively contributing to both department and overall business objectives.  
  • Support ad-hoc projects and provide expertise as required to enhance organizational effectiveness.
 
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sanitation, pest control, or food safety within food manufacturing environments.
  • Proven track record in regulatory compliance, sanitation protocol implementation, and hygiene management.
  • Experience collaborating with established pest control service providers is advantageous.  
  • Strong understanding of sanitation principles, including cleaning, disinfection protocols and chemical safety.
  • In-depth knowledge of GMP, HACCP, HALAL, and other relevant food safety regulations.
  • Basic understanding of microbiological concepts related to hygiene and sanitation.
  • Chemical Knowledge: Understanding the properties and safe handling of cleaning and sanitizing chemicals.
  • Skilled in documenting and maintaining accurate records for audits and regulatory compliance,
  • Experienced in integrated pest management (IPM).
  • Ability to lead and train teams across multiple plant locations, .
  • Familiarity with digital sanitation tracking tools, and hygienic design for buildings and machinery.
